The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
Job Summary:
Conducts studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards and regulations, and industrial hygiene. Investigates accidents and promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs. Provides safety performance measures. Determines root cause analyses.
Job Responsibilities:
-Manage and lead the activities of the Safety Team to ensure safety, process safety, and security regulatory compliance and department goals and initiatives are achieved as well as establish the expectations of behavior for the safety culture in the refinery
-Provide guidance and leadership in administrating the development, implementation and execution of the policies, procedures and safety management systems to identify and reduce/eliminate potential hazard exposures
-Identify and establish leading indicator metrics that are tracked, trended and used in a way to identify areas for concern, improve safety programs, address risks/hazards and ultimately eliminate incident
-Address personnel issues including developing, training, coaching, mentoring and disciplining of subordinates
-Responsible for building, implementing, organizing and maintaining the Process Safety Management system and programs to assure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices
Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:
At least 8 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Master's or MBA degree typically preferred.
Organizational Leveling:
Manages professional employees and/or supervisors. Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
