JOB SUMMARY

Provides leadership, direction and strategies for maintenance function consisting primarily of maintenance planning, routine maintenance, turnaround planning/execution and capital/expense projects. Actively participates in labor management committees (where appropriate) and in developing and strategic/operational plans and budgets. Leadership accountability for safe, environmentally sound and reliable operations of Maintenance department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Four (4) or more years experience in maintenance within a refining, industrial or manufacturing facility (Required)

  • No Licensure or Certification Required.

  • Supervises craft work group(s) to ensure maintenance work is efficiently executed without incident in an environmentally compliant manner

  • Assists in setting schedules and allocating work tools and materials for the weekly work schedule

  • Works with Operations Representatives to develop Daily Work Schedule

  • Monitors and appraises progress to ensure productivity, work quality and schedule adherence

  • Ensures team understands work scope and performance expectations

  • Promotes proactive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) focus

  • Primary Owner of all activities associated with Urgent Work and Emergency Work

  • Responsible for reporting information on Urgent work and Emergency work at Daily Scheduling meeting

  • Ensures assigned craft personnel are adequately trained for their job assignment

  • Identifies training needs and participates in development of training programs for craft skill pool

  • Maintains visible and active field presence to promote safe working environment and ensure adherence to safe work practices

  • Participates in audits and near-miss/incident investigations

  • Follows-up on safety issues until closure

  • Enforces all safety guidelines established by the refinery and company

  • Active member of safety committee

  • Ensures employees participate on safety committees and participate in all safety initiatives

  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling to ensure appropriateness of job packages

  • Ensures materials used comply with current engineering standards

  • Identifies and resolves delays that would prevent schedule attainment

  • Participates in maintenance cost control including challenging need for discretionary work

  • Participating member of Maintenance leadership team

  • Works collaboratively with other supervisors, planning/scheduling, and reliability teams to develop repair strategies and maintain reliability of refinery plant mechanical equipment in support of continuous operations

  • May be responsible for working with Turnaround and Projects to develop scope for upcoming shutdowns
