Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Reliability & Technical Asset Management Engineer, working under the direction of the Director of Reliability and Asset Management, will have responsibility of identifying, managing, and solving asset reliability problems that adversely affect operations. A key role is to participate in the execution and improvement of the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM and PdM) programs and facilitate required Condition Based Maintenance activities. This role includes development of Standard Maintenance Procedures and CMMS initiative implementation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational and Maintenance Support

  • Excellent knowledge and Subject Matter expert in troubleshooting/process improvements to remediate mechanical equipment faults (pumps, valves, actuators, and instruments).
  • Actively engaged in the specification, installation, commissioning, start-up, and sparing of facility rotating assets
  • Provides technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Technical personnel in order to address immediate concerns and implement long term Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) solutions
  • Lead the development and implenmentation of strategies to optimize and maximize Uptime
  • Perform PM and PdM audits and statistical analysis of maintenance, machinery, and operations to identify and address reliability issues.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset based maintenance plan
  • Effective Utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies to identify inherent reliability problems.
  • CMMS Champion
  • Monitor reliability data through the current EAM system, analyze data, identify trends, provide technical solutions and/or problem resolution and support field teams in resolving issues that affect reliability.
  • Actively engaged in improving asset data accuracy and asset related processes in SAP PM

 

Design for Reliability

  • Lead the utilization of DfR principles to build, replace and improve production assets. The Reliability Engineer plays an important role in supporting projects through equipment selection and technical analysis.
  • The goal for the Reliability Engineer is to ensure installed assets meet production needs and have Design for Reliability (DfR) characteristics built into the scope.
  • Historical equipment performance, lowest cost of ownership, and full utilization of spare parts inventory are methods that candidate should be knowledgeable and be able to apply.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Own and champion DKL RCI program
  • Aid in growing Condition Based Maintenance initiatives by identifying opportunities to leverage instrumentation and executing proof of concept pilots.
  • Provide technical expertise as needed to resolve complex maintenance issues/problems and designs comprehensive maintenance approaches to optimize resources and overall effectiveness.
  • Support field operations and mechanical equipment troubleshooting through effective RCI (RCA, RCFA etc) strategies

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or reliability related technical discipline/field

 

Minimum Required Experience

  • 5+ years of professional level engineering work experienc
  • Working knowledge of Failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis, statistics and probability, complex technical problem solving
  • Knowledge in Data analysis techniques such as Statistical Process Control, Fault Tree, Fishbone, Weibull, Six Sigma (DMAIC)
  • Familiar with large electromechanical equipment, controls, and data acquisition, vibration analysis, lubrication and other NDE methods
  • Basic understanding of rotating equipment and proper maintenance techniques.
  • Strong quantitative acumen with the ability to perform data analysis including the ability to perform trending and unit-to-unit comparison Data analysis and trending software/techniques
  • Ability to meet firm deadlines; ability to build and foster strong working relationships; ability to work in a team environment.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Desirable/Preferred Education

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

 

Certifications/Licenses Preferred

  • ASQ CRE or CMRP Desired
