Tank Inspector

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.



The Tank Inspector serves as the subject matter expert for tank inspections and repairs.  This position is responsible for managing the inspection and repair schedule for all tanks in the company in compliance with API-653, juristictional regulations and company standards.  The inspector will create budgets, work scopes, and bid documents for the inspection and repair of tanks.  Responsibilities will include cost tracking and schedule compliance along with updating KPIs.



  • Manage the tank inspection and repair schedule
  • Create work scopes and bid documents for tank inspection and repair
  • Track tank project schedules and costs
  • Manage contractor activiites
  • Recommend preventative and mitigative actions for tanks
  • Perofrm other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Education/Experience

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • 5 years experience with above ground storage tanks
  • Experience with both repair and new build tank projects
  • Understanding the damage mechanisms associated with tanks


Certifications/Licenses Required (Required)

  • Current API 653 Certification




Preferred Education/Experience

  • Additional engineering or mechanical education a plus
  • 10 years experience with above ground storage tanks & in-service piping
  • Prior experience with managing the tank inspection and repair schedule of an owner operator


Preferred Certifications/Licenses 

  • Current API 570 certification
  • Additional API certifications a plus
