Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Position Summary

The Risk and Reporting Analyst - Middle Office works in the Middle Office. The Middle Office is the financial and risk management organization that partners with Commercial Operations. The Commercial Operations team transacts with counterparties across North America (with an emerging international presence) to buy and sell energy-related commodities to hedge and optimize Delek’s downstream energy business. The position requires managing the financial, volumetric, and risk exposure of Delek’s positions to meet annual and strategic goals. These positions span a variety of energy-related commodities. In addition, Middle Office provides analysis to understand market risk and facilitate working with Delek’s trading partners, brokers, and logistics carriers.

The position also requires analyzing volumetric and financial positions to ensure activities are within the risk policy boundaries defined by Delek’s board of directors. Candidates should possess an understanding of cash-flow hedging and how hedging mitigates market volatility to optimize investor return.

The position requires working in a team-oriented environment and possessing superior communication and problem-solving skills. The Middle Office regularly interacts with Back Office / Accounting, Commercial Operations, Legal, IT, Internal Audit, and Management. The position also requires a high-proficiency for utilizing Excel and is proficient in other Microsoft Office applications (such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint). The work will require the successful candidate to learn Delek’s trade capture and risk management system that is the system of record for physical and financial energy transactions. Daily interactions across the business require assertiveness and diplomacy to solve problems and handle emerging issues in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Middle Office team working in a growing business that requires developing the policies, processes, and controls necessary to support the business and attain key strategic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Commercial Operations, Middle Office, Accounting, Legal, and Management with financial, volumetric, and risk reporting and analysis
  • Perform what-if analysis and applied problem solving to understand market trends and optimize commercial performance
  • Perform risk policy compliance tracking and periodic reporting to management
  • Evolve process and controls to accommodate a growing business strategy and creating efficiencies to handle increased transaction volume

 

Requirements - Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 1+ years of relevant finance, accounting or audit experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; adeptly interacts across departments and management levels
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, focused, trustworthy, motivated team player
  • Microsoft Excel intermediate to advanced user skills (macros, pivot tables and formulas)
  • Proficient with other Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
