Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Investor Relations Analyst

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline; accounting or finance strongly preferred

Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, CPA, CFA) beneficial but not required

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, treasury or financial analysis preferably within a publicly traded company, or experience as a sell side associate analyst
  • Strong analytical skills required with experience with organizing and summarizing financial information
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and advanced features of Excel
  • Solid written, oral and interpersonal communications skills and ability, with an attention to detail, required to create presentations to internal and external audiences, draft press releases for external and internal communication needs
  • Experience in investor relations and in the energy industry preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of capital markets and investments

 

Identify and evaluate analyst earnings estimates, opinions, and research

  • Participate in out-reach to sell-side analysts and discuss with them as needed, trends in the industry. Maintain analysis of analysts’ forecasts to understand trends modeled into expectations.
  • Using NASDAQ IR Insight and regular review of published reports, maintain an updated summary of analysts’ quarterly and annual earnings estimates, opinions and price targets for Delek US and Delek Logistics
  • Track analyst research on peers and general industry topics. Distribute to senior management and Board of Directors as appropriate.

 

Analyze stock performance, valuation relative to peer group

  • Prepare regular IR reports that include stock performance, valuation, analyst ratings, dividend yield, short interest and other metrics compared to peers

Monitor shareholder base and develop and maintain updated list of prospective investors

  • Using NASDAQ IR Insight databases and tools, maintain an analysis of the shareholder base including composition (institutional percentage), changes in holders, and breakouts by style, portfolio turnover, active vs. passive, activist, socially-responsible, and other criteria
  • Assist the investor targeting program by identifying institutional investors whose investment style and portfolio mandate align with investment characteristics of Delek US and Delek Logistics.
  • Develop list of investor for use in planning of investor meetings and roadshows to various cities
  • Track meetings with targets and monitor changes in their shareholdings.  Assess effectiveness of targeting program efforts, and recommend modifications as needed.

  

Develop and maintain competitive intelligence on industry peers

  • Using quarterly earnings releases, SEC filings, basis, summarize earnings announcements of peer companies, including main questions/topics raised on their conference calls
  • Monitor news, announcements, investor presentations and other information, particularly regarding performance, strategy, guidance and outlook
  • Monitor news and developments, including acquisitions, investments, regulatory developments and other issues impacting the sector.

 

 Develop materials for quarterly earnings announcements

  • Work with accounting, financial reporting and finance teams to gather, analyze and synthesize operational and financial information for quarterly earnings announcements (and summaries in investor presentation).  Assist in development of materials for earnings announcements including summary financial tables and charts, analysis of results and explanation of variances, and other facts and figures for news release and scripts.  Prepare initial drafts of conference call script.
  • Analyze peer group conference calls to identify and anticipate issues and questions from the financial community.  Work cross-functionally to gather responses and background information from internal subject matter experts.

  

Gather information and prepare other analyses and presentations as needed

  • Working with internal team, lead the development and updating investor presentation used for investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and investor visits
  • Provide support for external communications and presentations related to debt and equity financings and rating agency updates  
  • Prepare peer market analysis as needed to support regular Board updates.
  • Support development of annual report narrative and charts
  • Provide information needed for employee communications articles and intranet updates on earnings results, stock performance and other related topicsStrong understanding of the market that provides insights to executive management that includes impacts of DK / DKL from daily market news on:
    • Permian Basin developments
    • Crude pipeline updates
    • Global and domestic macro impacts to DK / DKL
    • Gulf Coast export impacts
