Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Summary

The Insurance Brokerage Manager is responsible for the management, organization and success of the insurance procurement/management function. This high visibility role requires the successful candidate to foster and develop long-term relationships with Delek’s insurance brokerage and carrier partners. The Insurance Brokerage Manager is responsible for an insurance procurement budget of $20,000,000 plus and for executing the insurance risk transfer objectives of the company for all Property, Casualty, Environmental, and Executive Services lines.

Management Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, training, coordination and evaluation of the insurance managers and brokerage partners. Responsibilities include hiring, training and evaluating employees while following established performance and wage increase guidelines, and addressing issues, which need improvement. Responsible for setting priorities, coordinating teams and establishing even distribution of priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize And Lead Insurance Managers And Brokerage Partners.
  • Manage The Strategy And Negotiate Appropriate Coverages And Limits For All Lines Of Coverage.
  • Manage The Third Party Brokers Responsible For All Insured Lines Of Coverage To Ensure That Performance Deadlines Are Achieved And Initiatives Are Moving Forward As Desired.
  • Manage The Financial Operations Of The Department Including Budgeting, Forecasting, Premium Allocation, Captive Operations, Invoice Payments And Collateral Programs For Above Lines Of Coverage And Resultant Claims.
  • Manage Third Party Administrator Contracts, Notice Of Election Carrier Agreements, And Other Departmental Contracting Operations.
  • Manage The Development And Maintenance Of The RMIS, And The Broker Online Tools (Marsh Connect), Vendor Certificates Of Insurance (ISNetworld), And Third Party Interface Tools (Chubb World View, Global Risk Advantage, AIG Global Limits).
  • Own And Organize Insurance Renewal Information Gathering Process, Audit Processes, And Other Routine Departmental And Broker Processes. 
  • Manage Property Engineering Inspections, Reports And Site Visits.
  • Manage Schedules e.g. Named Insured & Locations Schedules To Ensure All Company Assets Are Properly Insured.
  • Manage The Reporting Of Non-TPA Managed Claims.
  • Lead Request For Proposal Related To Brokerage Services And RMIS Systems.
  • Develop And Analyze Insurance Coverage Limits, Terms, Benchmarking Reports Including Valuation, And MPL/FML Loss Analysis For All Refining Operations.
  • Build Internal Partnerships With Leaders Across The Organization To Drive Consistent Risk Management Practices And To Demonstrate That Risk Management Is A Valuable Resource To Assist In Business Decision Making.
  • Crosstrain To Review Contracts For Risk Management Implications And Respond To Operational Leaders With Observations And Recommendations.

Requirements- Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Bachelor Degree Or Equivalent Experience.
  • 10+ Years Of Corporate Risk Management, Or Property Casualty Brokerage, Or Insurance Company Experience.  
  • Command Of Microsoft Suite, Especially Excel And PowerPoint.
  • Strong Attention To Detail.
  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication.
  • Ability To Work Cross Functional And Maintain An Effective Working Relationship With Other Groups Including Human Resources, Safety, Accounting, Operational Management And Legal. 
  • Ability To Multi-Task And Improvise In A Fast Paced Working Environment.
  • ARM Or CISR Designation Preferred (Or Comparable Designation)
