Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

The Chief Accounting Officer is a pivotal role, working strategically and analytically across functions to ensure strong financial accounting and internal controls as the Company drives for continued growth and profit improvement. 

 

The Chief Accounting Officer will oversee all aspects of an organization's accounting function and tax. This individual is responsible for planning and directing ledger accounts, financial statements, and internal control systems. This individual will establish and maintain accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations. The role includes direct responsibility for consolidated financial reporting, general accounting, cost accounting, tax, financial systems, AP/AR, budgeting and accounting shared services. 

 

As a key member of the Company’s senior leadership team, the Chief Accounting Officer will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be located at our corporate headquarters in Brentwood, TN.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Financial Reporting and Control 

  • Ensure financial statements and other management reports are produced on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in a timely and accurate manner 

  • Manage overall financial control strategy and SOX compliance 

  • Ensure financial statements meet GAAP and other compliance requirements 

  • Ensure audit readiness of the accounting records for all entities and the integrity of the accounting systems 

  • Manage financial reporting as well as multiple general and functional accounting functions 

  • Primary relationship manager and main point of contact for auditors, both internal and external  

  • Drive efficiencies in execution of business and financial control requirements throughout the company 

  • Prepare materials for quarterly audit committee  

  • SEC reporting (quarter close/ year-end close) 

  • Develop annual report and proxy material 

  • Involved in Quarterly Earnings report 

  • Internal financial management reporting inclusive of P&L, balance sheet and capital review 

Tax  

  • Develop and manage federal, state and sales tax strategy  

  • Ensure that tax returns are accurate and filed in a timely manner 

  • Monitor federal, state and international accounting standards to implement best practices 

Accounting Services 

  • Manage execution of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets 

  • Drive operational efficiencies through enabling processes and technology within accounting and other divisions 

Financial Systems 

  • Integral part of enterprise wide SAP reimplementation with an eye for process re-engineering and complex transactions 

  • Manage portfolio of integrated accounting and financial technology solutions providing direction for enhancements and investments  

  • Manage team to provide operational support for application portfolio 

Strategic Initiatives 

  • Demonstrates prudent judgment when making important decisions by utilizing knowledge of industry best practices and current trends 

  • Leads and manages large-scale projects. Manages multiple assignments simultaneously and has strong organizational skills to excel in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Develops and implements innovative and creative solutions to business problems. Encourages and expects others to think progressively and not be limited by existing methods and procedures. 

  • Lead and manage operational and strategic initiatives to align Accounting & Finance objectives and long-term business strategy including supporting SAP implementation, as well as other technology initiatives 

  • Deploy new controllership Standard Operating Model with enhanced, streamlined key processes, policies, procedures, technology (SAP) and roles & responsibilities 

  • Integrate financial reporting and accounting services resources from plants to the corporate accounting and shared services function 

  • Integrate financial services and accounting services resources from affiliate entity to the shared services function 

  • Create and implement the control and compliance framework across Retail, Commercial, Refining, and Logistics business units

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:   

  • Bachelor's degree required in Accounting 

  • CPA designation required 

  • Twelve (12) to Fifteen (15) years related experience 

  • Minimum of five (5) plus years’ current experience in a similar Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) role in a public company with market cap of over $2 billion and revenue of over $10 billion in the Energy, Refining or Manufacturing industry  

  • Minimum of five (5) plus years’ experience in hedge accounting 

  • Experience in senior leadership role such as corporate controller, CAO, with the ability to manage a large staff in excess of 100 employees 

  • Prior experience in working on large transformation projects such as capital investments, expansions, business transfers, M&A, and simplification 

  • Solid career progression (increasing scope and responsibilities) with demonstrable professional accomplishments in which he/she was the principal signal-caller 

  • Candidate must possess deep knowledge and demonstrative experience in managing FIFO/LIFO inventories  

 

Preferred Education & Experience:   

  • Advanced degree and/or other professional designations (CFA, CFP, CMA, etc.) are all pluses 

  • Public accounting experience, or prior experience supporting a commercial or operations function  

  • Experience with entrepreneurial businesses 

  • Ten (10) plus years’ leadership experience of the cash management, accounting and business systems functions and significant experience working with IT and HR
