Manager, Transportation
Job Summary:
Analyzes transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of the organization's products. Reviews proposals and makes recommendations for modifications in rates and transportation regulations. Evaluates freight classifications, tariff rates and operating efficiency to ensure the proper delivery of products. Plans and coordinates fleet operations, including acquisition, scheduling, maintenance service and repair, and disposal of trucks, and hires common carriers (third-party transportation companies) as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understanding, communicating, ensuring group’s alignment with Transportation strategy, corporate goals and business objectives.
- Aligning the Region’s plan with direction of Transportation Operations organization to achieve goals and objectives, in conjunction with accountability for leading group to achieve these results.
- Holding the group and the individuals within the group accountable for achieving results.
- Using sound business disciplines to generate maximum revenue and profits while operating in an efficient manner, meet the safety and performance standards and goals set forth by the company, customers, and regulating authorities.
- Responsible for spend effectiveness and profitability in Region.
Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Organizational Leveling:
Supervises the daily activities of support or production team members. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
