JOB SUMMARY
Identifies, analyzes and controls occupational hazards and promotes worksite or product safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, psychology, physiology, and industrial health and safety laws. Advises on structural safety requirements based on failure mode analysis of such factors as fatigue, stability, stress, concentration and creep. Designs protective equipment or safety devices for machines and redesigns machines and plant equipment to eliminate occupational hazards. Develops standards which set tolerances, stress ratios, strength of materials and other related engineering requirements. Reviews proposed occupational safety policies, guidelines and standards to determine their consistency with accepted engineering principles and practices; recommends technical changes as needed.
DKL - Performs analyses and develops solutions to prevent releases of any substance defined as a "highly hazardous chemical" by the OSHA and EPA. Applies a set of interrelated approaches to managing hazards associated with gathering, processing, or transferring natural gas or crude oil to reduce the frequency and severity of incidents resulting from releases of flammable gas or liquids. Manages changes to various systems, provides guidance to operations management, participates in incident investigation activities, and continually assesses the effectiveness of existing Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and processes. Provides support in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an EHS Management System that reflects elements outlined in the American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 1173.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Four (4) or more years Experience in a related field (Required)

- Executes the implementation and maintenance of PSM documentation and overall PSM compliance activities for the business unit's facilities
- Coordinates with centralized projects group and EH&S to ensure compliance with Delek's PSM program (DKL - PSMS program)
- Responsible for preparing, scribing, tracking, and closing out PHA's (Process Hazards Analysis)
- Completes all Pre-Startup Safety reviews
- Mentors and leads the facility operation teams with maintaining PSM requirements
- Mentors and trains team members
- DKL - Facilitates Management of Change requests and associated Pre-Startup Safety reviews
- DKL - Analyzes datasets and prepares reports that track metrics and key performance indicators that measure effectiveness

This job role requires medical and other fitness for duty assessments that ensure the employee can meet the physical and technical demands of this job role while working around process equipment that handles hazardous substances associated with the Oil & Gas industry. These requirements may include:
· working in office, outdoor facility, and weather conditions commensurate with the job role and work location
· operating a company vehicle and/or other motorized vehicles
· ascending and descending stairs and ladders, working at elevated heights and in close quarters (e.g. kneeling, crawling, squatting, etc.)
· wearing company-supplied personal protective equipment designated for normal and/or emergency operations
