JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Engineering position will support the DKL Operations and provide input to the development of projects for new greenfield assets and major brownfield facility upgrades and expansions. This position is responsible for evaluating existing and future oil, SWD, and plant processes as well as pipeline hydraulics, optimizing systems to reduce costs, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the transportation and production processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have recent gas processing experience with small to mid-sized processing plant projects and knowledge of pipeline design and hydraulics or other relevant Midstream experience
- Process experience to include: compression & dehydration, refrigeration & liquids recovery, crude/gas/water measurement and custody transfer, salt water disposal, and other miscellaneous rotating equipment installations.
- Thorough understanding of corrosion mitigation on steel pipelines, including coatings and cathodic protection
- Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set company and career goals, and complete commitments on schedule and on budget
- Deep knowledge of API and industry standards and best practices
- Working knowledge of PHMSA regulations, DOT 195, TX Railroad Commission, ASME B31.3/31.4/31.8 design standards, and API Recommended Practices
- Must be willing to travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, projects, planning, and information gathering
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to submit to DOT random drug and alcohol screening
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Stay informed and understand the regulatory process in Texas and New Mexico to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety and for the safety of the company assets, employees, and the general public.
- Ensure successful execution of oil, gas, and water projects including facilities, pipelines, and plant modifications
- Prepare and/or review deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, datasheets, design calculations.
- Apply professional design codes and recommended practices (API, ASME, etc.) and assist in the development of company engineering standards, specifications, and policies & procedures required to support operational issues
- Work with field personnel and multiple vendors to troubleshoot, optimize operations, plan system/equipment maintenance, etc. while maintaining projection schedules and budget within AFE
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have recent oil and gas processing experience with knowledge of pipeline design and hydraulics or other.
- Refining, petrochemical, gas midstream, upstream oil & gas experience required, midstream experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, 10 years’ experience preferred
- College graduate from a four year program with Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in project planning and program management, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience executing several small to medium sized projects running concurrently
