JOB SUMMARY:
This position is for a dynamic individual to take on a pivotal role in enhancing the profitability of Delek's El Dorado Refinery. As a crucial member of our team, you'll drive refining optimization, ensuring the efficient selection of feedstocks, product placement, and detailed planning and scheduling of refinery operations. The primary focus will be on devising monthly and weekly operating plans and defining operational targets to maximize product value as well as overseeing refinery budgets and contributing to capital project evaluations and business development opportunities. Additionally, you'll be the team lead for refinery planning and economics, fostering collaboration with our corporate optimization team, schedulers, and traders to achieve our collective goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding an engineering degree

Six (6) or more years of process engineering planning-related experience in the refining industry (Required)

A minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering, planning, or scheduling is required.

Thorough understanding of refinery process units is essential.

Experience with refinery LP modeling software is highly preferred

Familiarity with scheduling software and crude assay management software is preferred.

Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory.

Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal and administrative skills, is required.

The capacity for creative thinking and willingness to challenge conventional practices is highly valued.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Develop short- and long-term operational plans for maximizing profitability
-
Utilize refinery LP models and crude assay software to assess crude oils and feedstocks for purchase, ensuring models are finely tuned to refinery yields for optimized planning and forecasting.

Supervise onsite planning and economics staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Determine optimum combination of raw material, process unit utilization, operating conditions, and product slate to maximize refinery profitability

Collaborate closely with the commercial group and operations team to devise logistics plans for refinery feedstock and products.

Provide feedback to operations so timely corrective actions can be taken to continuously move operations towards optimal for maximization of profits

Maintain up-to-date planning models, alongside other software and spreadsheet tools.
