Sr Fixed Asset Accountant

Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. 

 

The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day. The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc. and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets. The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

We are hiring for the position of Sr. Fixed Asset Accounant reporting to our corporate office, but working remote. 

 

The Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant reports to the Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting and is responsible for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate close process
  • Use and monitor system controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets
  • Track the application of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues in accounting for knowledge sharing and benchmarking
  • Develop relationships with colleagues in the field for open and timely communication of disposals, CIP scope changes, in-service timing, etc.
  • Build and maintain influential working relationships with management, peers, internal audit staff, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhere to performance and documentation standards of internal controls applicable to the role
  • Assist Fixed Asset Supervisor in continuous improvement initiatives to maintain fixed asset records at the highest level of integrity and insight
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Delek US Holdings’ business activities
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP system preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP for fixed assets regarding maintaining sub-ledgers, accumulated depreciation, disposals, and asset retirement obligations
  • Able to analyze and communicate changes that occur within fixed asset accounts, sub-legers, depreciation expense
  • Must possess the highest degree of integrity and ethical values
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and take ownership of projects
  • Ability to adapt to changing business activities and departmental initiatives
  • Consistently able to challenge how technology can be leveraged to enhance efficiency
  • Ability to work well within a self-directed, team based environment and contribute ideas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including effective listening
