Job Summary:
The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner is an integral part of the Leadership Team and
is an organizational peer and partner of Maintenance Supervisors, Reliability Engineers, and Operation Supervisors.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Ensures that safety is considered in the development of every Work Plan.
- Detailed work planning to accurately predict the duration, labor requirements (including outside services), materials needs, and tool needs for all future work where planning is deemed necessary.
- Detailed development and planning of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Work Plans.
- Updates Bill of Materials information for each asset within their area of responsibility.
- Determines appropriate level of planning for each new routine Work Order.
- Jointly responsible for the tasks required to ensure effective capacity utilization, reliability, and life cycle asset management.
- Supporting responsibility of Supply Chain Coordination (Materials Management & Procurement).
- Creates Purchase Requisitions for planned work to include services and materials.
- Supporting responsibility within the Work Scheduling function of the refinery.
- Creates stock reservations for planned work.
- Owner of the Work Plans; responsible for communicating Work Planning Package information to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Analyzes Planner Feedback Forms and implements follow-up actions in the equipment file system or Work Plan Library to improve future planned work.
- Owner within Maintenance of the equipment-based file system and Work Plan Library within their area.
- Communicates with all levels of the Maintenance, Operations, and Reliability organization on abnormal or critical situations and seeks advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
- Supporting responsibility in preparing the Annual Maintenance Plan, tracking, and the analysis of key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:
- At least 10 years of “craft-specific” experience.
- Participates in the maintenance “on-call” supervisory program.
- Works “Hand in Hand” with the craft supervisors ensuring all plans are thorough and executable.
Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:
- 15 years of journeyman-level “craft-specific” experience in the petrochemical or refining industry with substantial experience in developing material take-offs and bill of materials from piping and instrumentation drawings and unit walk-downs.
- Able to support the department in a supervisory capacity as needed.
