Field Safety Specialist

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Delek Logisitcs Partners, LP is currently seeking a Safety Specialist in the Big Spring, TX vicinity to oversee and manage safety program compliance. This position will report to the Director of EHS and support the field duties of the Maintenance, Engineering, and Integrity groups.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the development, implementation and compliance of safety programs and work procedures, associated with federal, state, and local regulations and Company policies.
  • Prepare, implement, and review EHS manuals, programs, procedures, and standards.
  • Conduct site safety orientation for all new contract and Delek personnel
  • Ensure all daily, weekly or monthly reports as required and submit to EHS Manager or Director as directed.
  • Develop additional Safety KPIs
  • Assist with manhours/TRIR/KPIs
  • Maintain a field presence including conducting inspections, training, and verifying compliance.
  • Maintain effective communication with all levels of employees, management and applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies and consultants. .
  • Perform Contractor Variances
  • Sit on corporate Safety groups
  • Work closely with engineering on all DKL projects
  • Conduct safety audits of all locations
  • Enter Incidents into Gensuite
  • Act as Site Safety person during Emergency Responses
  • Investigate all accidents/incidents and complete required reporting practices; conduct RCA of each accident/incident. Identify potential trend development that may affect safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Ensure required training is completed by all company personnel and conduct training as required to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas
  • Assist internal/external legal counsel in preparation of legal and technical defenses in regulatory enforcement actions and associated regulatory matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Education

  • Minimum BS degree in occupational safety; safety management; safety engineering or similar field. CSHO designation from a certified OSHA training institution will be considered in lieu of degree.

 

Minimum Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience (verifiable) in pipeline; refinery; construction; chemical plant or related field

 

Certification/Licenses Required

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to company and insurers.
  • Successful completion and passing of company drug screen, background check and respirator fit test.
  • HAZWOPER 40-hr certification required.
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have high level of initiative, and ability to often work independently with minimal oversight
  • Ability to comfortably interact with employees at all levels in the office AND in the field.

  • Must have ability to effectively organize, prioritize and plan daily work in an unstructured work environment
  • Must have ability and willingness to work with a team, take directions from supervisor(s), with a high degree of attention to details, follow work rules and adhere to established work schedules.
  • Possess organization and planning skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Must be capable of developing and revising practical and effective company procedures, standards, processes and best practices.
  • Must maintain a professional and respectful demeanor / attitude with co-workers, contractors, customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Must be willing and able to work in a corporate office and field environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work in the outside in the field environment, in all types of climatic conditions

 

Hours of Work Travel

  • Must be willing and able to carry a company provided cell phone and respond as needed 24/7.
