Sr Business Operations Analyst

Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, asphalt, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. We are hiring for the position of Sr. Business Operations Analyst located in our Brentwood, Tennessee corporate office.


The Sr. Business Operations Analyst will work closely with several members of commercial team, and is responsible for financial and product reporting. This role consists of recurring weekly reporting as well as on-demand reporting from multiple business units. This person will need to present data analyses in a clear, concise manner understandable to internal stakeholders. This role is responsible for monitoring business performance via business analytic tools. A high level of computer literacy with spreadsheets, word processing and database software and/or business systems (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, MS Project, VISIO, VB, other software).

Role & Responsibilities:

Data Modeling & KPI Reporting (60%)

    • Support commercial sales and strategy by generating and tracking KPI reports.
    • Drive business intelligence through the development of internal data sources and KPI dashboards that improve the business’s understanding of the product’s performance.
    • Carries out weekly/daily updates to composite data models in Excel and refreshes the corresponding dashboards in Power BI.
    • Performs margin analysis to assess the performance of products in different markets, then proceeds to make recommendations to business directors.
    • Aggregate market data from multiple external sources and merge into data model, with dynamically calculated fields and measures.
    • Builds dynamic data models referencing multiple tables, utilizing both calculated columns and measures.
    • Scenario modeling to determine opportunities to optimize supply or product sales.
    • Presenting complex data and analyses in a clear, concise manner.
    • Builds dynamic spreadsheet models referencing multiple tables. Data modeling will involve connecting to external data, using PivotTables with Calculated fields, and scenario modeling.
    • Minimum knowledge of SAP table structure and table maintenance.


Financial Analysis, Forecasting and Planning (40%)

    • Assist in preparation of annual department budgets, including gross margin, capex and overhead
    • Monitor and track actual performance against budget for each plan year
    • Maintain external data services contracts and user management, including annual budgeting and contract negotiations
    • Assist in facilitating and managing internal transfer pricing process between refinery and commercial business lines
    • Prepare supporting economic justification for key growth and process improvement initiatives
    • Develop and maintain product supply forecast
    • Evaluate business development capital projects including financial analysis of prospective store conversions and new to industry locations.


Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum B.S. degree in business, economics, math or related field
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Strong drive for learning new things and creating value for the business
  • Prior experience with using business intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI etc. is a big plus
  • Knowledge of financial statements
