SVP, Retail Sales & Innovation

The Senior VP of Retail Sales and Innovation is accountable for Delek Retail’s revenue generation, innovation, and business development functions. S/he will help develop and support the implementation of the company’s overall vision and strategy. He or she must demonstrate integrity as a core value and lead in a manner that inspires collaboration among all departments and business units.

 

This senior leader is principally responsible for enhancing revenue through increased inside sales and business development activities; as well as driving innovation growth initiatives including digital transformation, new business development, acquisitions, and organic growth. As a member of the Branded Leadership Team, s/he reports to the EVP of Retail and Branded Wholesale while working closely with members of Delek’s Executive Team.

 

 

S/he Must be a self-driven technology leader who has a passion for business development with demonstrated financial results. S/he will exhibit excellent B-to-C and B-to-B customer management experience and communication skills along with an entrepreneurial mindset. This individual will demonstrate excellent project management skills and an exemplary ability to partner with a diverse high performing team to drive technology- based innovation and results.

 

S/he will be a trusted thought partner and advisor to the EVP and Delek Executive team. As part of Retail’s senior management team, this executive will enhance the strategic and organizational planning capacity of this growing company.

Responsibilities: 

 

• Lead the Innovation team to evolve Delek’s Digital Transformation ensuring Delek’s profitable growth within the technology space
• Lead the Category Management Team to drive consistent performance and support Delek’s strategic vision and budgets
• Plan, generate, and execute business development activities centered around innovation and other revenue generating initiatives
• Develop a long-term vision and business strategies that provide competitive advantages, and profit objectives. Communicate these strategies and plans in tangible ways to win over the belief of Delek’s leaders and employees to drive change
• Work with the BI team to develop comprehensive current and forward-looking industry analytics to support our strategic vision.
• Study other bricks-and-mortar, and online retail while actively participating trade associations, share groups, and educational programs
• Partner with DK Innovation in developing new ideas and approaches to technology and investments both organically and nonorganically
• Possess the business acumen to identify new market, product, and technology trends at the beginning of the growth cycle

 

Ideal candidate:

 

A well-rounded commercial and strategic senior leader with deep industry experience in driving growth through innovation and technology with the ability to roll up his/her sleeves and get into the details when needed. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a track record of delivering results and creating shareholder value in multiple marketing, operating, and P&L roles across a variety of business situations andleadership challenges.


The SVP must be a strong communicator and collaborator able to fit in with a very lean and entrepreneurial environment that is dynamic and results oriented. S/he will be an agile leader able to succeed in the role and grow within the organization.
Specifically, the ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:


• Lead and execute on all aspects of business including; strategic planning, consumer marketing, B2B and B2C revenue generation, expense control, and digital transformation.
• Participate in strategic planning and business case development to guide technology investment decision making, support implementation and analyze post-live business impact of enhancements.
• Demonstrate the ability to drive analytics (e.g. average order value, promotion effectiveness, conversion rate) to grow sales and increase profitability.
• Drive business development by identifying new channels through which to sell company products.
• Manage vendor and channel partner relationships.
• Work with the technical team to ensure that website technology, structure, organization, design and functionality are customer driven, and user-centric. Play an integral role in web site design and functionality.
• Develop a plan to increase revenue through existing and new channels.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
• Must have a broad network of industry contacts to create industry partnerships for new innovation.

• Superb oral communication, written communication and presentation skills that effectively interface internally across all levels of the organization including executive management, leadership teams, field employees, general staff; and externally with customers, vendors, and industry professionals.
• Comfortable with risk which means potential opportunity. Unafraid to develop new models when the old model is no longer relevant.
• Is nimble, adaptable, comfortable with change, and operating at a fast pace.
