The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

The Process Technology SME is a member of the Corporate Refining Operational Excellence team that provides standardization, direction, and guidance to the refinery process engineers and operating teams in their area of expertise. This role serves as the corporate technical expert in their respective process area. Delek US Holdings is interested in candidates with expertise in the following refinery process technologies: Crude/Vac/Distillation, FCCU, Alkylation, Hydroprocessing, Reforming/Isomerization, Utilities, SRU/Amine, and Heavy Oil (Coking, Deasphalting). These roles will support short-term training and troubleshooting, mid-term strategy generation and implementation, and long-term project and turnaround scope development to meet the company’s strategic goals.



  • Provide KPI development, monitoring, and reporting
  • Assist process engineers with unit health monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor and develop site process engineers and operations supervisors
  • Stay abreast of technology advances through interface with industry contacts
  • Assist in process studies for yield and energy improvement, regulatory compliance, and increased profitability
  • Serve as the group lead on the monthly, technology specific, collaboration calls and drive agenda development
  • Support unit start-ups, shutdowns, and turnarounds
  • Coordinate annual unit health checks and work with unit engineers to develop and present content
  • Lead or participate in root cause failure analysis of incidents and work with Reliability to identify process impacts on equipment performance and failure mechanism.
  • This role relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativitiy and latitude is expected.
  • Willingness to support other process technologies based on skillset and business needs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 15 years experience in refining industry
  • 10 years of experience in process technology area of expertise
  • Understanding of staged gate capital project process
  • HYSYS and technology specific kinetic modeling software
