Position Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and support the month-end close process for our growing U.S. business. This role will work closely with the Controller, cross-functional departments, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in accounting practices, SAP systems, and experience leading a team in a fast-paced, multi-unit retail environment.
While our U.S. head office is based in Dallas, Texas, preference will be given to candidates located in the Dallas area. However, we are open to remote work for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial data processed through SAP.
· Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner.
· Oversee GL activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
· Prepare and review key schedules, including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analyses.
· Lead AP/AR review and ensure transactions are posted correctly.
· Ensure accurate mapping of GL accounts, cost centers, and company codes within SAP’s financial structure.
· Collaborate with Operations to ensure accurate expense tracking, correct accounting treatment for inventory, leases, and fixed assets and cost allocation.
· Serve as the SAP Finance functional lead during system implementations, upgrades, or enhancements, partnering with IT, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
· Design, document, and continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls.
· Manage a growing team of accounting professionals; provide coaching, feedback, and professional development.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience working in or supporting SAP (preferably S/4HANA) in a financial capacity.
· Experience in retail, CPG, or multi-site operations is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
· Deep understanding of SAP FI/CO modules and their integration with other modules (MM, SD, etc.).
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams.
