The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

JOB SUMMARY

The Civil Engineering will serve as Delek Logistics Civil and Structural Engineering SME supporting the development of projects for new Greenfield assets and major brownfield facility upgrades and expansions associated with the Company’s hazardous liquids midstream pipelines, terminals, facilities, trucking stations, and loading racks, as well as developing and maintaining DKL Civil and Structural Engineering Practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforce and maintain company safety policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, and for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
  • Managing repairs, maintenance, and replacement of infrastructure.
  • Analyzes data such as survey reports, long range plans, and maps to be able to plan projects effectively.
  • Coordinating soil testing process to be sure that the soil is right for the structure to be put on it, and that the foundation has the needed strength to hold the structure.
  • Design and testing of caliche, asphalt, concrete, steel, and other building materials to be applied in a project to be certain they comply with standard and specifications.
  • Conduct studies to determine the economic feasibility of maintenance projects by working with Integrity team and evaluating estimated cost of production, including the cost of equipment, materials, and labor.
  • Perform preparation of design specifications
  • Incorporate special features which relate to the project at hand into specifications. These include order of work, physical conditions at the site, construction work schedules, method of payment and measurement, construction procedures and special methods, and coordination with contractors and other stakeholders
  • Perform technical review on specifications to ensure clarity, completeness, and exactness, and to remove restrictive descriptions to ensure competitive bidding.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Education

  • 6-10 years of hazardous liquids midstream pipeline industry experience is preferred, or 10+ years of refining, petrochemical, gas midstream, or upstream oil & gas experience required
  • College graduate with a four-year Bachelor’s Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
  • Strong skills in analysis and problem solving
  • Solid understanding and ability to adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations
  • Possess strong organizational and site management skills to effectively coordinate site activities
  • Ability to perform calculation, dimensioning, and control of concrete and metallic construction
  • Ability to effectively work with professionals from other fields, including subcontractors and architects
  • Extensive experience in the use of relevant civil engineering software programs, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Overnight travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, special projects, emergency planning, or information gathering will be required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
  • Must be willing to submit to DOT random drug & alcohol screening

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in an ABET-Engineering program
  • 10-15 years’ design-house engineering experience
  • A Professional Engineering Licensure is desirable
