Area Sales Manager - Wholesale Distributor Channel (Dallas)

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

Job Description:

The Area Sales Manager is primarily responsible for recruitment and support of Delek's branded fuels distributors. Reporting to the General Manager Branded Business Development, the Area Manager manages the day-to-day sales and marketing activities within an assigned territory. Some, but not all, of these activities are as follows:

 

  • Market development within assigned territory
  • Account prospecting
  • Existing account development
  • Contract negotiation and compliance
  • Communicate marketing programs and promotional activities
  • Communicate regulatory changes and issues

 

Education:

BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Dallas, TX

 

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Area managers must have a minimum of 3 years professional sales or marketing experience along with a strong background in wholesale distributor channels. Experience with commodity or petroleum-based markets is preferred.
  • Must have basic understanding of petroleum product supply and distribution, refining, marketing or trading including a general understanding of the factors influencing supply, demand, and pricing of petroleum products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and negotiate with others.
  • Ability to recommend and implement strategic courses of action relative to marketing.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to use initiative and good judgment, knowledge of resources, and methods within the standards and procedures set by the department.

  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to travel (up to 65%)
