Advanced Process Controls Manager

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.



Advanced Process Control (APC), Manager will work with refinery operations, economics and planning to identify, install, support and maintain the APC program. The APC manager is part of the Corporate Refining Operational Excellence team.

This role serves as the corporate technical expert in implement, support and maintains APC’s for Delek US. APC supervisor to work with DCS operators to improve understanding of APC applications, how they work and how they provide value and train on the applications.







ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These are the most significant job duties performed; other responsibilities or assignments not specifically mentioned may also be assigned.



  • Lead technical efforts and support project manager through all phases of APC program across multiple refineries.
  • Lead, develop and support inferential controls, data analysis, model development, controller tunning, commissioning, and long term support for APC.
  • Continous monitor on the status of API applications and develop KPI to evaluate the performance of the applications.
  • Support control system team with troubleshooting, alarm management, PLC, DCS, network architecture as assigned.
  • Act as technical lead for all unit testing during FEED, Detailed Engineering, FAT, SAT and implementation.
  • Ability to deal with a broad range of challenges that require routine interaction with other control system groups and manage multiple priorities is essential.
  • Support site process controls teams on APC systems, models, limits and variables as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Electrical/Chemical
  • Electrical/Controls technology or equivalent


Minimum Required Experience: 

  • Prior experience with APC systems.
  • Good understanding of regulatory controls, inferential controls, and advanced controls.
  • Proven experience with DCS, PLC configuration and architecture of industrial networks.




Desirable/Preferred Education: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Electrical/Chemical


Desired/Preferred Experience: 

  • 10+ years of operating experience in the area of expertise
  • Programming/Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems
  • Prior experience with Honeywell APC

  • Ability to perform basic refinery activities necessary to adequately troubleshoot and inspect process equipment – this includes but is not limited to climbing stairs/ladders, making vessel entries and performing tower inspections
