Sr HRIS Analyst, SAP Payroll

JOB SUMMARY:  The Senior SAP Payroll Analyst's primary responsibilities will be to support SAP payroll (ECP) integration, process design, evaluation, configuration, and data modeling support. They will support any payroll defect management or enhancements and work with third party vendors and solutions as required. This resource will be expected to design solutions and execute basic configuration to meet the ever-changing needs of the organization. They will be responsible for the full lifecycle of system changes including requirements, testing, and production validation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These are the most significant job duties performed; other responsibilities or assignments not specifically mentioned may also be assigned.

  • Support the execution of payroll operational and SOX controls
  • Analyze payroll processes and make recommendations for improvements.  Support the development of requirements, testing, and implementation of system enhancements.
  • Support upgrades, support pack application, enhancements, and testing.
  • Develop and maintain test script libraries, ensuring that the scripts correctly reflect the requirements and that testing is executed against those requirements. 
  • Support testing of all inbound and outbound payroll integration files.  Coordinate with payroll vendors, banks, state agencies, etc… to ensure files are built and implemented successfully.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all service packs, tax updates, and quarterly releases are tested and applied timely
  • Review and provide input to business requirements for payroll related enhancements and break fixes.
  • Analyze software releases to assess impact of new features.
  • Investigates and resolves complex production support issues.
  • Partners with HRIS leadership to ensure payroll issues and enhancements are prioritized appropriately taking into account work requests across all areas of HR.

Coordinate with finance on payroll mappings and GL integrations. 



  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in in accounting, payroll or finance related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a payroll processing role.  Required experience with SAP Payroll, preferably ECP. 

Desirable Education/Experience: Preferred experience with organizations that have heavy union presence.
