Senior Software Engineer - SAP FICO

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

The Sr. Software Engineer SAP Finance will be responsible for the support of the SAP Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management solutions to enhance the business functionality and overall performance, driving Finance & Treasury initiatives aimed at increasing the scalability and automation of operations. Position requires close coordination with internal business units and IT staff, banks, third party external vendors, contractors, and other areas of the business to analyze requirements and establish deliverables, dates, and scope using standard PMO methodology. Support SAP Financials (focus on FICO - GL, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Bank Accounting, Inter-Company Reconciliation, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, Project System, Results Analysis, Unsettled Costs, Month End Close, Overhead assessment and settlement.). Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document user/customer requirements. Responsible for maintaining a company's accounting systems, which may include accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, and revenue.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Overall knowledge of S/4HANA and SAP Finance solutions.
•    Map business requirements, processes, and objectives.
•    Design, customize, configure and testing of FI/CO modules.
•    Identify gaps, issues and work around solutions. 
•    Act as liaison with client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve software problems.
•    Document functional designs, test cases, and results. 
•    Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements.
•    Provide consulting services on both new implementations and existing support projects.
•    Act as a liaison between the business functions and the technical team.
•    Provide ad-hoc training and user support as required.
•    Experience with multiple SAP releases including ECC 6.0 is a must 
•    Structured Support, including data modeling, extractions, data staging, loadings, transformations, transportation and reporting.
•    Month end and year end closing activity.
•    Look for solutions beyond monitoring, ticket resolution, bring in value addition.
•    Support SAP ECC in the FICO, Project Systems, Interface with different systems & Error handling of IDOC.
•    Support on Inter Company Reconciliation (ICR) process and issues.
•    Expertise in the configuration and implementation of Cash Management on ECC & S/4 HANA.
•    Support & Enhance Business Process for SAP Commodity Trade & Risk Management
•    Expertise in the configuration and implementation of the components of the Transaction Manager including Hedge Management and Accounting 
•    Strong knowledge of Treasury related Financial Accounting processes and best practice
•    Expertise in the integration of Treasury with neighbored SAP solutions
•    Leverage the treasury management system and available technology to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
•    Knowledge of banking software and treasury workstations preferred.
•    Knowledge of Bank Communication Management (BCM) 
•    Knowledge of In-House Cash (IHC) preferred 
•    Knowledge of BPC

 

Required Experience:

•   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering

•    Minimum of 5 years experience including greenfield implementation/version upgrades
•    Knowledge of banking software and treasury workstations preferred.
•    Strong team player with demonstrated ability to lead and influence others outside of their direct-reporting lines.
