Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

Assist with the preparation, documentation, and disbursements of employee payroll, payroll taxes, garnishments, and employee benefit payments. Monitors and ensures proper reporting and taxation of employee benefit payments. Prepares reports illustrating payroll activity, including such items as wage and hour, tax payments, and benefit plan disbursements. Responds to payroll-related inquiries from senior management, other departments, and individuals at all levels of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle confidential information with integrity and the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Assist with processing the end-to-end payroll utilizing SAP payroll software while partnering with vendors and utilizing time information interfaced from Kronos.
  • Maintain monthly metrics and appropriate supporting documentation to support SOX and internal/external audits
  • Supporting audits by working with other departments as needed, communicating remediation issues and documenting and overseeing resolution plans
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of all company payroll. Processing corrections and adjustments as necessary.
  • Assist in conducting pre and post payroll process audits.
  • Process incoming mail for garnishments, taxes, and other items relevant to payroll
  • Research and resolve incoming cases for the Payroll Team escalating where necessary
  • Maintaining payroll documenation including updates to the case tracking system and spreadsheets.


Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 2 years of related payroll experience.


Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
