Legal Counsel/Legal Contracts Manager

Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, asphalt, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. We are hiring for the position of Legal Counsel/Legal Contracts Manager located in our Brentwood, Tennessee corporate office.


The Legal Counsel/Legal Contracts Manager is predominantly engaged in oversight of the Legal Department’s contracting processes, policies, and systems.  The lawyer/manager works with the legal team, risk team, and all business teams to manage contracts from inception to expiration.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors contract performance and compliance and recommends improvements and innovations to oversight of contract process to ensure contract accuracy.
  • Reviews, drafts, revises, and negotiates all types of contracts with assistance from other in-house and outside counsel.
  • Supervises the contract management systems.
  • Manages contract workflow in conjunction with Company’s contract policy.
  • Handles inquiries from end users of contract management system, troubleshoot the system, and train users as needed.
  • Participates in work group meetings providing input on workflow and communication issues.
  • Applies formal, best practice methodologies to develop and implement contract strategies to support the contracting process.
  • Works with internal and external customers, carefully obtains the requirements needed for each contract and prepares statistical analysis for contract review.
  • Leads special contract-related projects.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Law Degree and license to practice law in any state plus qualified for licensing in Tennessee as in-house counsel (or Bachelor’s Degree and three years of relevant experience).
  • Negotiation and general procurement knowledge and experience is required.  
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Publisher, and SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, adapt and be flexible to adjust to changing demands, timelines and deliverables
