The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.


The Director, Technology provides technical expertise and guidance in the management of a public and/or private network, hardware management of servers, storage, and hybrid datacenters; tests and analyzes network/system facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers. Installs, supports and/or maintains LANs and/or WANs; evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades. Patching 100% of environment as a KPI, performs management roadmap / direction of technical analyses of software, hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient IT network/systems operations. Responsible for the management team that monitors data traffic and controls network/system resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical problems related to network failure/integrity and validation of all infrastructure designs.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the IT Operations - Network, Servers/Storage, and DBA teams.
  • Attends and represents the IT Operations teams at a variety of executive interactions for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Oversees the managers that lead the day-to-day technical operations of the IT operations departments.
  • Define, manage, and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users.
  • Develop and review budgets for IT operational departments and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Support negotiation and administration of vendor, consultant contracts and service agreements with Delek US supply chain organization.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Demonstrates project management discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards.
  • Takes a whole systems approach to analyze business issues and implements holistic solutions, ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process, and technology are made.
  • Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
  • Translates business needs into enterprise/IT product solutions; partnering with the business by guiding management on future uses of technology and educates on IT solutions and initiatives. Troubleshooting - Resolves issues by diagnosing problems, determining possible resolutions, and implementing effective solutions.




Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
  • 9+ years of relevant Engineering & Consulting experience
