The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.



The Director of IT Security is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of IT security operations, management of cybersecurity solutions, security event monitoring, and cyber incident response investigations. While reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this individual will manage the investigation, documentation, and reporting of threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will execute mission requirements, personnel requirement tracking, perform network security analysis, trend analysis, defense in depth, and promotion of cybersecurity best practices.




  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Cyber Security Operations team.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coordination to team, to include latest information security practices, techniques, capabilities, and conduct/promote knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Identify operational and tactical ways to improve security operations and support efforts to prepare for, monitor, detect, analyze, contain, remediate, and assist in recovering from cybersecurity incidents.
  • Provide technical guidance and support the implementation and on-going support of new technological solutions across the Delek enterprise from a cybersecurity prospective.
  • Manage response to alerts from various monitoring systems and platforms to address potentially malicious events in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team and coordinate the Cybersecurity Team’s efforts to support investigations during an incident.
  • Update or provide recommendations on teams Standard Operating Procedures, as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of tools and best-practices in techniques, and procedures of attackers; in relation to incident response.
  • Ensure Security Mitigation elements are in place and operational to support the Delek operational technology environments.
  • Be able to create technically detailed reports based on intrusions and other events.
  • Analyze and evaluate anomalous network traffic and system activity for potential intrusions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving a wide variety of client issues.



  • 8-10 years of experience working in IT or cybersecurity management.
  • 5+ years of experience working in cybersecurity.
  • CISSP, GIAC, or CISM Certification
