Business Applications & Programmer - Commercial

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

The Business Applications Manager will work with the commercial business units to establish and promote a culture of collaboration and partnership by evaluating business needs, data insights, analytics and important metrics that will help drive actionable insights and deliver on growth. This role combines managerial responsibilities and in-depth hands-on technical expertise providing operational support, maintenance, development, and quality control of commercial applications like Open Link’s Right Angle (ETRM - Energy Trading and Risk Management) and SAP Sales & distribution systems. Participate in existing on-going needs for Energy Trading, Risk Management, and Pipeline services related solutions. Expert knowledge on SAP order to cash (OTC) processes. Experience in configuration and customization of SAP customer master data, material master, pricing procedures, developing conditional records and data sharing among sales organizations. Experience in quality management and quality control activities and techniques to make sure the development is in conformance with the requirements. Experience working with various quality control tools for automation of test scripts and testing process. Increase productivity of the technology teams' build and delivery cycles, and design system solutions to maximize the operational efficiency of the business processes/workflows. Engage senior business heads, providing frequent & timely updates and managing expectations.

 

Essential Duties and Requirements

  • Provide oversight and management to the IT Application team to deliver IT services
  • Assesses user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available tools 
  • Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates
  • Manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication 
  • Manages testing activities like req. gathering/analysis, test plan/test strategy; script execution and bug tracking
  • Experience in performing unit and functional testing, regression and performance testing, user acceptance testing and code deployment
  • Experience developing and automating test scripts in various languages for testing tools
  • Experience in defect tracking & test management via testing tools
  • Develop SQL queries to manage the reporting on key performance indicators
  • Ability to work with business users to capture business requirements and build integrated project plans
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement enhancements to improve the system and business processes to support the goals and objectives of Delek
  • Ensure compliance with standard SOX guidelines and established framework. 
  • Maintain a strong business, and technology understanding and awareness of trends, opportunities, and issues.
  • Develop new and/or maintain existing documentation to satisfy typical needs ranging from user training to compliance documentation.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience including greenfield implementation/version  upgrades
  • Strong functional background in trading and hedge and SAP systems configuration
  • Experience in commodities product implementation across multiple product classes such as Oil, Metals, Gas and Power etc.
  • Experience in Order to Cash process, SAP preferred
  • Strong grasp of different SDLC methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with testing methodologies, test strategies and developing manual and test automation scripts.
  • Experience with one major test automation tool
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Experience:

  • SAP Order to Cash and ETRM system experience
  • Strong desire to grow, learn and take on new and challenging tasks
  • Strong analytical skills, experience in solving practical issues and engaging cross-functional teams of multiple process partners to a consensus
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines; handle multiple tasks
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Quick learner
