The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensures site compliance with the Management of Change process, Health Safety and Impact Review, and Pre-Startup Safety Review through participation in the MOC and PSSR process.
- Assist with Management of the companies MOC electronic MOC and action item tracking system
- Responsible coordination of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for redo’s, revalidations and projects
- Ensure & acquire all necessary Process Safety Information (PSI) prior to meeting facilitation.
- Ensures that created PSI is Review and maintain site PSI
- Ensure PSM decisions, interpretations, notifications, and reports are in agreement, well documented and consistent in format and detail.
- Support field operations on all matters pertaining to PSM.
- Take the lead on special PSM related projects.
- Ensure all Independent Protection Layers (IPLs), Consequence Mitigation Systems (CMSs) and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) are reviewed and that they achieve a level of reliability that is appropriate.
- Participates in Incident Investigations as required.
- Review Incidents on a weekly basis to determine their PSM Applicability.
- Supports regulatory agencies and corporate compliance audits to the site
- Responsible for compliance with corporate and site PSM procedures.
- Develop and Support for the training of PSM requirements to plant personnel.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field with 7+ years of related experience.
- 1 year of experience in Process Safety Management including Process Hazard Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis preferred.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
- Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Familiarity with industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
- Ability to plan and organize tasks to consistently produce results within the deadlines.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with multiple layers of the organization.
- Extensive knowledge and leadership of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and risk assessment, including HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) identification.
- Ability to apply and interpret standards and procedures to various situations.
