JOB SUMMARY

Operates and maintains the facility field equipment, including performing tests on pumps, motors, and water, maintaining logs, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment. Performs duties essential to operate and maintain distribution and collection systems, including installing and replacing meters, repairing leaks, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on pipelines.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Four (4) or more years related experience (Required)
  • No Licensure or Certification Required.

  • Ability to work in temperature range of below freezing to 100 Degrees, Travel as needed, Field work covering remote locations, Equipment fabrication shops and panel shops, Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more, Work effectively, safely and comfortably in PPE, Walk and or stand from 1-11 hours per shift, Sitting 1-3 hours on the shift , Utilize hand tools in a safe manner, Ability to be on your feet for several hours a day
  • Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly system checks at water treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution facilities
  • Performs routine monitoring and documentation of facilities and SCADA systems
  • Assists manager with planning, organizing, assigning, directing and reviewing the work of operators
  • Assists with overseeing the operation and maintenance of facilities to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are met and maintained
  • Reviews and approves Job Safety Analyses
  • Oversees work of contractors, ensuring completion and all safety procedures are followed
  • Mentors and trains new and less experienced operators
  • Performs laboratory analyses to ensure adequate process control
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Regularly gauges tanks and records oil inventory
  • Monitors flows and pressures to mitigate loss of capacity
  • Provides excellent customer service, internally and externally
  • Assists with managing and implementing preventative maintenance program
  • Coordinates implementation of all safety programs
  • Prepares and reviews work orders
  • Initiates requisitions for tools, materials, equipment and services
  • Adjusts and regulates plant processes to meet quality and quantity standards
  • Collects samples and ensures delivery of results to proper agencies
  • Inspects facilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and prepares necessary repairs and maintenance schedules
  • Devises maintenance plan and executes to repair equipment
  • Coordinates customer service responses
  • Makes sure balance on the system is appropriate for the volume
  • Coordinates and devises escalated customer service responses
  • Monitors and maintains meters and tank gauges, calibrating to ensure optimal performance
  • Adds chemicals and ensures quality standards are met and maintained Completes regular equipment maintenance duties, including calibration and preventative maintenance
