Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operator is responsible for safely operating all terminal equipment in connection with receiving, storing, transferring, and loading of petroleum and Ethanol products via trucks, rail cars, water vessels or tanks. The Terminal Operator will hand line gauge tanks as needed and is also responsible for the testing of products and documentation of results; maintenance of Terminal equipment; preparation of various Terminal reports; and general maintenance and upkeep of the facility.  Terminal Operator will be required to be ON Call on a scheduled basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure the safe operation of the terminal; maintain awareness for personal and co-workers safety, and ensure knowledge and compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform gauging of storage tanks, temperature readouts, and obtaining product samples.
  • Perform all daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and compliance inspections, and maintain required logs as appropriate.
  • Complete daily meter readings for all products. Calculate and input all product inventories and meter readings into appropriate systems.
  • Ensure that all Terminal equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and report any and all equipment failures to supervisor.
  • Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
  • Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on various operating equipment, including, but not limited to, pumps, valves, meters, compressors, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal building, and various other equipment.
  • Calibrate and adjust all additive injection systems as required.
  • Basic testing of oils, such as viscosity, A.P.I. and flash when necessary.
  • Complete all required additive Volumetric Additive Reconciliation documentation on a monthly basis. Take product samples as required, perform required Quality Control tests and maintain Product Quality Log.
  • Issue work permits to contractors performing work at Terminal. Includes ensuring that pre-job safety meetings, lockout - tag-out, confined space entry, and gas tech monitoring requirements are met for all work performed at the Terminal.
  • Ensure that all contractors, customers and vendors follow Company/Terminal Policies and Procedures when accessing or working in the Terminal.
  • Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to appropriate individuals.
  • Participate in emergency situations as required.
  • Crosstrain at other Deleklogistics facilities
  • On call when required

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

 

Minimum Required Experience

  • 2+ years related experience in petroleum liquids, or ethanol terminal, pipeline or marine operations preferred
  • General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facility preferred
  • General knowledge or experience in the petroleum or ethanol industry is helpful
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and speak the English language
  • Ability to abide by all DOT rules and regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals and reports
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
  • Consistently demonstrates cooperative, team-oriented behavior
  • Safety conscious and understand safe work practices for operating in the oil and gas field and on the road
  • In order to be successful in this position, one must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent analytical skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills are also required
  • This position requires someone who can work well under pressure and has a strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • This person must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response
  • Individual must consistently exhibit a high level of customer service
  • Must pass a criminal background check

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Preferred Education

  • Associate of Science in technical or industrial field preferred

 

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years related experience in petroleum or ethanol liquids termainal

Work Space

  • The worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor work conditions, activities occur in both so work in harsh outdoor condition may occur
  • The worker is subject to hazards. These include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals

 

Hours of Work/Travel

  • 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, rare occurences of travel expected
  • Individual must be available during non-work hours as required and may be required to carry an on-call phone at all times. Normal and extraordinary work circumstances may require, without notice, overtime, weekend or holiday work

 

Physical Activity

  • Worker must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walking for long periods
  • Standing and sitting required for the position
