JOB SUMMARY
Assists engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks. Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety and infection control standards. Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples. Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines. Installs, operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two (2) or more years Management experience (Required)
- Eight (8) or more years Experience in a related field (Required)
- No Licensure or Certification Required.

Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including climbing of stairs, ladders and in confined spaces, Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator), Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Provides technical direction and leadership to laboratory work group
- Ensures work products are technically sound in accordance with corporate and industry standards
- Improves effectiveness and productivity through evaluation, development and implementation of laboratory practices and analytical techniques
- Provides accurate and timely laboratory analysis to support refinery optimization decisions
- Manages quality assurance program
