The Sr. Project Engineer - Tank Program reports to the Sr. Manager, Turnarounds & Special Projects; managing the Tank Integrity maintenance and repair projects for our Big Spring, TX Refinery!

Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects. Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Four (4) or more years Experience in a related field (Required)

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Manage tank integrity projects for tanks requiring maintenance according to API 653 regulations
  • Support portions of larger capital projects requiring new tank construction per API 650 and/or significant tank upgrades
  • Collaborate with Operations, Scheduling, Environmental and Business Development to develop schedule for performing tank work
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, schedules, materials and contract specifications, procurement plans, and work plans for projects, track and report on project progress and performance
  • Review financial commitments and expenditures, ensure maintenance of accurate forecasts, and report on monthly project performance reports
  • Plan, schedule, and execute tank integrity projects to meet Company standards and policies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projects
  • Prepare the annual sustaining capital budget and major maintenance budget for tank integrity
  • Ensure tank inspection and repairs are documented per regulatory requirements and Company standards and that they are being maintained, organized, and can be accessed for future reference as needed
  • Provide technical support during the review of tank integrity processes and procedures to maintain consistent assessment and repair practices
  • Provide support to field maintenance technicians and operations staffs
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety as well as the safety of employees, the general public, and company assets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
