Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

 

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

 

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Performs civil, mechanical, piping and structural design of liquids midstream (pipelines, terminals, and facilities) assets, including new installations as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing.  Develops, implements, recommends, enforces, and evaluates Company and Industry construction standards, equipment specifications, recommended practices, policies, and procedures.  Assists the engineering and capital projects departments with all facets of hazardous liquids systems designs, including pipeline, metering, and pumping station engineering. Creates CAD drawings, designs and selects material and equipment, develops bills of materials, and writes design criteria and justifications.  Champions and expedites the Company’s standards and procedures development and approval process, coordinating and consulting with internal and external subject matter experts as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Leads Company design standards development for all disciplines, including civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process controls, materials, rotating equipment, tanks, vessels, and measurement.
  • Supervises Company design and drafting contract and/or full-time personnel
  • Enforces Company document management systems and processes for all capital projects and managed expense projects
  • Provides expert design input during all phases of the projects, from pre-engineering through startup and commissioning.  Recommends and applies applicable Company, agency, and industry accepted standards to all work assignments and all capital projects

  • Increases oversight and enforcement of Company design standards, validates all standards are being implemented and followed in all engineering design work.
  • Provides an administrative leader for Delek’s electronic and project documentation management system development, testing, rollout, and production.  Develops, leads, and enforces all DMS policies and procedures for the Company.
  • Increases standards development productivity by both actively contributing and participating in design reviews, but by also unifying the standards development process under one Engineer.
  • Provides an advocate to Engineering and Logistics Operations for standards adoption and application, increasing awareness and enforcement of existing and new product that is approved and rolled out by Logistics Leadership.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Education: 

  • BS in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited College or University

 

Minimum Required Experience: 

  • 5 years in midstream oil & gas, refining, petrochemicals, or similar industry

 

Certifications/Licenses Required (If Applicable): 

  • None

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Desirable/Preferred Education: 

  • BS in Engineering (civil, mechanical, or chemical)

 

Desired/Preferred Experience: 

  • 5 or more years’ experience with a hazardous liquids pipeline operator or a proven 5+ year history of designing and engineering hazardous liquids pipeline facilities for pipeline operators.

 

Certifications/Licenses Required (If Applicable): 

  • FE (EIT) preferred but not required
  • PE preferred but not required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work Space

  • Mostly office based but could be exposed to extreme heat and cold conditions when performing field visits, surveys, audits, and other outdoor activities.
  • Field activities will require personal protective equipment to be worn at all times.

 

Hours of Work/Travel

  • Up to 10% Travel over an annual basis
