Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.


The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.


The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence/Analytics, the Data Scientist will support the Retail and Wholesale Branded Fuel Teams. This critical role will help support the development and maintenance of all retail BI solutions. This will include the development of advanced analytics and database solutions in conjunction to supporting the current systems. The individual will also own the translation of predictive modeling results to actionable insights that can be utilized across the Delek Retail organization. This person should possess a high interest in data manipulation, data analysis, and passion for driving data driven strategies.

Description and Responsibilities:

  • Modeling & Analysis (75%)
    • Explore transactional and customer level data using modeling and develop associated visualization methodologies
    • Develop and maintain predictive models for the organization sales and loyalty teams.
    • Develop CLV and basket lift models for loyalty program
  • Development & Analysis (15%)
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop automated KPI modeling where needed and associated reporting
    • Partner with IT to develop documentation for needed functionality of BI related databases and information
  • Ad Hoc Analysis (10%)
    • Support Business Intelligence team with ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

Requirements - Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience with a BI Platform (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI or equivalent)
  • Experience with coding in SQL, Python, R/Rstudio/SAS, Alteryx or equivalent required
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, and Access)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
