The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Position Overview

Field operator of the Delek Permian Gathering system (PGS) from the Big Spring refinery to multiple producer owned production leases located in the Big Spring, TX area.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responding to producer leases using a specially equipped vehicle.  Typically a 40 hour per week position there is the potential of 24/7 response as required.
  • Follow the direction of the PGS manager or supervisor.
  • Effectively, communicate with the PGS producers and pumpers to understand volumes and throughput needs of the assigned production leases.  Also, communicate with the SCADA operators in El Dorado, AR as required to determine and meet the needs of the specific leases in the system. 
  • Make necessary manual valve alignment changes as directed by the pipeline manager or the SCADA control room or as needed to manage emergency situations within the PGS.  
  • The pipeliner/gauger will be trained to operate and maintain multiple crude purchasing skids that are required to purchase and control system flow and pressure. 
  •  The pipeliner/gauger will be trained to launch and catch cleaning tools throughout the pipeline segments.  Also, trained to help with the meter proving operation throughout the PGS. 
  • One of the most important tasks is the testing of the composite crude samples at each lease site.  The test must follow API approved crude measurement procedures to enable the pipeline/gauger to generate a crude purchase document.  This document will be used to purchase the crude that has been transported through the DK owned measurement meters at each lease.   
  • Trained to monitor and check calibration of the tanks, pumps, and operating systems.
  • Monitor active custody transfer skids for integrity and functionality.
  • Assist with one-calls, public awareness, and maintenance repair activities.
  • Report maintenance issues to generate work orders as need to keep systems functioning properly. 
  • Comply with all safety and regulatory directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Adequate computer literacy, adequate level of manual dexterity, knowledge of safe working practices around rotating equipment, knowledge of safe use of hand tools.
  • Abilities to understand and follow direction of supervision.
