Position Overiew


The Technical Training Coordinator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and overseeing the release of IT training initiatives and corresponding documentation. Training Coordinator will lead our employee development initiatives through hosting creative training events and educational programs. This includes but is not limited to producing and enhancing IT training materials, for example, tool-tips, how-to’s, videos and presentations. Works closely with different teams to keep abreast of IT products and services prior to implementation to ensure appropriate training material and documentation is created and available. Works on the development and implementation of new and existing training avenues.

A strong predictor of success for a Technical Training Coordinator is the proven ability to communicate with the teams to identify training needs, organize and prioritize inititives, and deliver quality training deliverables in a timely fashion.


Credibility – Effectively lead training sessions with authority and effectively engage the appropriate subject matter experts as needed. Demonstrates effective problem-solving with the ability to analyze problems carefully and conceptualize appropriate training solutions.  Capable of translating business priorities into training programs, processes and initiatives that drive value and meet the business needs and requirements. 


Communication skills – Polished; good listener; excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to exercise strong cross-functional relationships.


Collaboration – Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work with and through others; able to forge effective working relationships with various parties and encourage them to work together toward common goals. Experience working cross functionally with all areas of IT with demonstrated collaboration & teaming skills. 


Ownership – Self-starter with creative mind who takes initiative and ownership with a proven track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results while maintaining strong business partnerships in a dynamic and fast paced environment

How it's Done



  • Actively communicate with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals.
  • Manage, design, develop, and coordinate all IT training programs.
  • Ensure consistency and synchronization across IT training processes
  • Design and develop training strategies for IT products and services which include outsourced and/or in house initiatives.  
  • Create and maintain presentations, intranet websites, videos and other formats of materials.
  • Coordinate regular internal training sessions for the IT user community including hosting train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Develops and implements effective training seminars for end users in regards to IT programs and services.
  • Review existing training material and recommend improvements on format and content; work with owners to implement improvements.
  • Report the status of assigned tasks and projects to management.
  • Attend IT project meetings to identify training opportunities; work with project team to implement strategies.
  • Works with other IT groups and business units to evaluate processes and tools to identify implementation training plan.
  • Relationship building and management - This includes within IT team, cross teams, customers, partners, etc.
  • Prioritization - At all times we are under time pressure of varying degree and this means prioritizing the work together with the rest of the team.
  • Work closely with users to fully understand business problems and engage appropriate IT teams to develop solution options.
  • Work to research, design, and  create ways to train employees (e.g. hands on activities, team building, gamification, etc.)
  • Map out annual training plans for management, HR, customer support and more
  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions
  • Create and maintain curriculum database and training records including How-to documentation
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques


What is Needed


  • Experience in Graphic and/or web design
  • BS degree in Education, Communication, Psychology, IT or related field
  • 2+ years of related experience in Information Technology, Software Development, Project Management, Marketing, or any other relevant field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general IT terms and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work on strict deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a resilient and flexible manner.
  • Confident interpersonal skills yet sensitive to other people’s needs and reactions with a consultative approach.
