SAP Payroll Functional Analyst

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

 

Position Summary

The SAP Payroll Functional Analyst will reside in our Information Technology department and provide overall operational support for business end users. This position is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, upgrade, testing, troubleshooting and ongoing support of payroll and other SAP modules. The Functional Analyst will partner with the business to identify improvements and efficiencies within current solutions as well as implementing new applications and processes.  The Analyst will ensure that deliverables meet or exceed individual objectives, adhere to payroll goals and support best practices. This individual should be able to work well under pressure, adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain focus on key tasks during busy periods. This position is based in our Brentwood, TN headquarters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide ideas, solutions, and tools to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Payroll operations.
  • Participates in solution design activities across functional teams to collaboratively develop effective solutions. Leverages subject matter expertise to drive the resolution of more complex business technology challenge.
  • Monitor results to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Partner with the business by providing SME support in areas including, but not limited to:
    • US Payroll processing/Laws
    • Gross & Net payroll
    • Off-Cycle processing
    • Grossups
    • Garnishments
    • Postings to GL
    • Benefits integration
    • Schemas and Rules (adjustment & new development)
    • Tax-configuration/Reporter
    • Setting up and maintaining BSI (SUI and TUBS)
  • Month End and Year End accruals and procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with SAP HCM Payroll and ERP 6.0
  • EHP7 experience and/or SAP CAA preferred
  • 1 full lifecycle SAP HCM implementation with SAP US Payroll deployment
  • Strong functional background in
    • Strong Experience on US Payroll and Payroll Control Centre.
    • Payroll Gross and Net calculations (One weekly pay cycle).
    • Off-cycles.
    • 401K Processing & Retroactivity.
    • Deduction frequencies and Prepaid deductions.
    • Garnishments.
    • Vacation pay forward and vacation in advance process.
    • Reports (Taxes, W2, 1095, Garnishments).
    • Wage type setup/ Part period Proration setups.
    • Taxability models.
    • Finance integration and Month end accruals.
    • Claims Processing.
    • Year-end processes
  • Strong desire to grow, learn and take on new and challenging tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills, experience in solving practical issues and engaging cross-functional teams of multiple process partners to a consensus.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated and able to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully support multiple projects in a high paced environment.
  • Experience with business analysis and related techniques, especially in the energy/trading sector is an advantage.
