Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.


The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.


The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Summary:  * This position can be based in Brentwood, TN, Dallas, TX or can be remote. Travel up to 50% depending on location.

Position will execute individual refinery based operational audit projects from a risk based audit plan to help ensure that management’s operational refining objectives are met and related risks are managed appropriately. This role requires the skill set to effectively plan, lead and execute operational audit projects. The technical operations auditor should have strong communication skills, a collaborative attitude and the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will have direct interaction with senior management, refinery management, process owners and information technology teams.


Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of applicable Delek US refining practices and operational excellence strategies / standards.
  • Participate in risk operational risk assessments, as needed, to help focus audit efforts.
  • Execute the operational audit process including planning, risk and control identification, scope and audit plan development, and drafting reports with value added recommendations. 
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, or increase efficiencies in the operations under review
  • Provide leadership and support of a behavior based safety culture.
  • Participate, as needed, in co-sourced operational audit activities requiring specialized skill sets.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with management, peers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance policies, procedures and standards as they relate to reliability, production, quality, process engineering, distribution, and scheduling.
  • Help ensure reliable and cost effective operations exist which meet or exceed federal, state, corporate and industry standards and leading practices in Safety, Environmental, and Quality.
  • Monitor progress of management action plans for issues identified during audits.
  • Ensure that Company policies, rules and guidelines are being followed in a consistent manner across all locations.
  • Collaborate with other Department Managers, as well as other Company staff, to share and implement best practices, and to raise the overall standards of the business.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred



  • 5-7 years of experience in refinery operations roles including experience in supervisory/management position or similar experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business management principles involved in strategic planning, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance practices and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members and external partners

  • Ability to address issues with a sense of priority and always think through alternatives and their impacts to other areas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Publisher, and SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, integrity and the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Knowledge/experience with 5-S, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles a plus
  • Working knowledge of information systems terminology, concepts and practices a plus.
