Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing.  The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.

The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP.  Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership on approach to gain efficiencies in the ASC 740 and the tax compliance processes
  • Manage and lead the work flow related to ASC 740, including proper delegation to staff according to their experience
  • Assist the tax provision team in detail review of the quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including journal entry and account reconciliation review
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley within the tax department
  • Leverage data and process automation tools to create a seamless flow of data from source, through calculations, to audit-ready supporting workpapers for provision and compliance
  • Assist the tax compliance team in the review phase of the federal, state and local corporate and partnership tax returns for all of the Delek entities
  • Coordinate projects with outside consultants and maintain relationships with service providers
  • Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to tax staff
  • Communication with the Tax Directors, the VP of Tax, and other internal departments, on all aspects of tax
  • Complete other special projects as assigned by Tax Directors and VP of Tax

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years in income tax related field
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Finance or related field
  • Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA license preferred
  • Experience with OneSource Tax products preferred

 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Action-oriented self-starter with excellent project management and leadership skills
  • Able to manage competing priorities and multiple time sensitive projects in dynamic environment
  • Strong understanding of federal income tax for corporations and partnerships, including the ability to identify issues and tax accounting methods
  • Experience with preparation and/or review of income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes
  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
  • Strong technical writing skills, excellent research skills and an understanding of federal and state tax authorities.
