Role Summary
The Measurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of DKL’s liquid and gas Measurement and quality. The Measurement Specialist is also responsible for directing the calibration of Measurement and sampling equipment, as well as providing a daily, weekly, and yearly analysis of various systems regarding the Gain/Loss. The Measurement Specialist will be involved in the planning, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various Measurement and sampling systems.
Job Accountabilities
- Provide programming support to maintain and develop analysis measurement tools to accurately report and verify inventory, quality, and throughput
- Ensure and verify quarterly audits throughout the Delek Systems are performed by third-party inspectors according to company standards and policies
- Establish and maintain performance records for internal and external custody transfer measurement and sampling equipment
- Coordinate activity with HLC Analyst and DKL responsible party (owner) to identify issues with meter and sampling performance and ensure lockout of any meter is applied until repairs/replacement and reproving/calibration can be verified
- Train DKL resources on effective testing, sampling, and maintenance procedures as per API and GPA guidelines
- Act as the DKL representative for the commissioning or maintenance of third-party measurement equipment or measurement stations
- Advise on equipment selection and installation for custody transfer and balance-check metering and sampling systems
- Liaison with third-party technicians to support the establishment and adherence to API MPMS and GPA policies and procedures for hydrocarbon sampling and Measurement
- Installs and maintains mechanical and electronic Measurement and sampling equipment
- Tests, calibrates, operates, maintains, and inspects electronic flow meters, as well as obtains gas and liquid samples
- Witness testing, sampling, and calibration of 3rd party custody transfer meters
- Maintain accurate and timely calibration reports in compliance with company measurement standards
- Demonstrate a commitment to company environmental and safety policies
- Maintain company-owned vehicle, Measurement and test equipment, and personal protective equipment
- Perform-Troubleshooting and repairs on Measurement and sampling equipment-related devices
- GC-Gas Chromatograph Perform Mechanical Functions and Duties.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience in a directly related field
- At least 5 years of experience in liquid Measurement or equivalent
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Must have general knowledge of pipeline systems
- Must have strong organizational abilities
- Must be willing and able to attend/complete required training courses
- Must be willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills (training, presentation, team collaboration, and communication), with the ability to influence others
- Knowledge of Coriolis, Turbine, Oriface, and other various meters used throughout the industry
- Knowledge of maintaining Omni, FlowX, ROC flow computers
- Knowledge of fisher ROC and ABB measurement equipment programming
- Knowledge of API/GPA measurement standards
- Experience in tank gauging, liquid, and gas sampling
- Have a working knowledge of the petroleum industry measurement standards related to crude and natural gas. API, GPA, ANSI, NIST, AGA
