The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Position Overview: 
Responsible for leading the shift team in the three Complexes, executing operation excellence, and provide front line leadership and performance feedback to the shifts.  This individual in this position will be responsible for excuting the weekly and monthly production plan in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with all policies and procedures.  This position is an incident commander and responsible for notification of the Refinery Leadership during an emergency or environmental incident.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Oversees the Operations and coordination of the refinery and optimization of all units in the refinery outside of normal business hours.  
• Responsible for approving schedule breaks and prioritize all Maintenance and Laboratory activities outside of normal business hours.
• Ensures refinery operations is in a safety and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with all policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates a commitment to our core values through the support of management and company policies.
• Ensures the structured operational cadence is followed and operating procedures are followed and provide oversight through auditing.
• Ensures the refinery plans and guidelines are followed.
• Works with the Complex Managers, Unit Superintendents, and Lead Technicians to excute the weekly and monthly operations plan; and, communicate any threats and operation deviations in the refinery meetings.
• Works with the area business team to drive continuous improvement of the safety culture, refinery, environmental and reliability performance and operation excellence.
• Serves as the “Safety Ambassador” for all shift personnel which involves delivering safety topics, conduting safety audits,  driving emergency response drill, and following up on safety concerns.  
• Maintains good communication with shift personnel, Complex Manager, Unit Superintendents and Refinery Leadership. 
• Works with the Unit Superintendents and Lead Technicians to identify and eliminate unplanned flaring sources and optimize utility usage.
• Serves as the Incident Commander during emergencies.  Enforces OARS and housekeeping compliance. 
• Notifies all agencies and refinery management in a timely manner when regulatory permit limits are exceeded and /or emergency incidents occur.
• Investigates all compliants from both regulatory agencies and citizens documenting the events.
• Ensures coordination of Operations and Maintenance to maximize operational relaiblity of equipment outside of normal business hours.
• Responsible for calling out Maintenance personnel during off hours as required and preparing plans for any necessary repairs. 
• Supervises operating personnel in the operation and care of all equipment and control of process variables to ensure product quality and safety of assigned units.
• Oversees all Laboratory results and ensures all necessary corrections are made to control the product quality.
• Provides daily reports and shift turnovers both written and oral.
• Notifies Complex Managers and Unit Superintendents when the production plan and/or orders cannot be executed.
• Works as a team within Operations and with Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, Environmental and Human Resources.  Promotes team building.
• Audits DCS operations and ensures the Lead Technicians are responding as necessary to ensure all products are on specification, unit throughputs are optimized and “lost opportunities” are minimized. 
• Enforces the objectives set by the Complexes in areas of safety, environmental compliance, target volumes and specification attainment at the lowest cost. 
• Delegate responsibility and authority to Lead Technicians and coordinators under his/her direction and hold them accountability for meeting all objectives.  Review performance with the Unit Superintendents and provide developmental opportunities.

• Must be able to lead shift employees and solid decision making.
• Ability to hold people accountable and conduct difficult conversation.
• Able to communicate precise instructions especially during high stress situations i.e. shutdowns and emergency situations.
• Must be able to make decisions and provide feedback to shift employees, Complex Managers, Unit Superintendents and Refinery Leadership.

Minimum Required Education: 
• High school/GED with a college degree a plus
Minimum Required Experience: 
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in refinery operations with demonstrated leadership and communication skills as a supervisor or superintendent.  Must have direct experience in Emergency Response and Incident Command.  Requires a working knowledge of refinery operations.
