Manager, Warehouse

Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, asphalt, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. We are hiring for the position of Manager, Warehouse located in our El Dorado, AR refinery.

 

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing warehousing strategies and coordinating warehouse activities in support of the refinery. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager, and has 3-5 direct reports located at the refinery with different accountabilities. The Warehouse Manager supervises the activities of inventory control, purchasing of materials and an hourly workforce consisting performing duties of Material Handlers. The Warehouse Manager will oversee Routine Maintenance, Turnarounds, and Capital Projects inventories for Delek’s El Dorado Refinery, in El Dorado, AR.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise warehouse technicians and material buyer for inventory replenishment ensuring that the expected standards of job performance and safety are met. Provide coaching to employees; participate in performance management process/discussions and in the selection process for staffing of future open positions.
  • Establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals; develop/track key performance indicators (KPI); utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop short- and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory; engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement; strive to achieve best in class status.
  • Maintain high standards on Health, Environment, Safety & Security; lead and participate in activities supporting EHS commitments. Ensure that employees/vendors adhere to safe practices and follow requirements in the storage and transportation of materials. Ensure team’s personal safety is a priority.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements related to warehousing and material control.
  • Monitor workloads and shift work as needed to ensure the success of the group.
  • Develop/oversee training programs for new employees. Ensure employees/contractors maintain required training and certifications. Monitor computer-based training status of team members and ensure that they remain 100% compliant with required completion dates.
  • Provide oversight on warehouse daily operations including the management of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, logistics, catalyst, and quality control/assurance.
  • Provide oversight on the management of material master creations/updates/deletions, daily Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, repairs/refurbishments, and running reports.
  • Ensure cycle count goals are met and 100% complete by year end.
  • Provide support to auditors (Finance, EHS, etc.); develop responses to address any deficiencies.
  • Support internal Business Partners (Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, etc.). Collaborate and effectively communicate with them to create robust, sustainable relationships. Be proactive and understand organizational needs and plan/align material management strategies to business partner goals.
  • Optimize and maintain facilities (warehouses, laydown yards, chemical/catalyst storage, turnaround-TAR, temporary storage areas, offsite storage sites); ensure stationary and mobile equipment are maintained and replaced as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance in developing warehouse budget; maintain financial discipline to meet the budget.
  • Identify and report any Supply Chain Synergies and Cost Savings (Value Capture) in support of departmental goals.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum BS/BA degree from an accredited University focused in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or relevant field.
  • Masters or MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience managing warehouse operations.
  • Minimum 7 years ordering materials and negotiating with vendors.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working collaboratively across various business and functional areas, including multiple geographic locations.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. dealing with department heads, senior management and customers.
  • Computer Proficiencies: Must be proficient in use of SAP and MS Office products.
