Engineering & Automation Lead

Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, asphalt, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. We are hiring for the position of Engineering & Automation Lead located in our Brentwood, Tennessee corporate office.


The Engineering & Automation lead is a highly motivated problem solver with above average Service Excellence and automation skills. Strong knowledge of Windows operation systems and Microsoft products (SCCM, MEMCM, Powershell, & Intune) is a must. Strong project management, people management, and time management skills required. The right candidate will lead a team of desktop engineers focused on automation projects, troubleshooting, and implementation of automation solutions within the assigned areas of the IT Operations Management team. In addition to providing innovative solutions, this role focuses on patch management, content delivery, and process improvement. The Engineering & Automation Lead will administrate the primary support tools as well as identify requirements to design automated solutions to improve efficiency and standardize processes across teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manages peer relationships between teams to understand needs and improve the overall business experience.
  • Maintain CMDB management and integration to ensure one source of truth in regards to HAM / SAM.
  • Monitors ticket volume & trends on a daily and weekly basis, and makes decisions and recommendations based on that data to optimize service delivery resulting in customer interfacing recommendations or team coaching and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform frequent and regular meetings/huddles/ briefings with IT Service Delivery & Relationship Management team staff on changes or deployments that may affect volumes within support.
  • Report the status of assigned tasks and projects to management.
  • Work to build and maintain relationships, which includes within IT team, cross-teams, customers, partners, etc.
  • Prioritization - At all times we are under time pressure of varying degree and this means prioritizing the work effectively.
  • Work closely with users to fully understand business problems and engage appropriate IT teams to develop solution options.
  • Helping deliver new and improved processes on an ongoing basis, identifying process gaps and/or areas for improved delivery.
  • Assist DOC team with automation solutions and KB articles for higher TTR.
  • Acts as an escalation point where difficult or controversial calls are received.
  • Oversee patch management with clear communications to technical owners and the business.
  • Ensure consistent, high quality and accurate technical solutions to increase client satisfaction.
  • Install, configure, test, and deploy hardware, software, and patch management.
  • Establish and maintain Service Excellence standards and best practices.
  • Oversee and manage contribution to the knowledge base as well as promotion within the business.
  • Manages configuration manager (MEMCM) training provided to IT and the business – providing content recommendations, review, deployments, policies, and improvements.
  • Collaborates with other IT groups and business units to evaluate processes and tools for automation solutions.
  • Provide feedback on technical and non-technical issues for development of training material.
  • Identifies needs for the business through process automation.
  • Provides ad hoc reports and data to management as needed.
  • Organized, clear, and concise communication with employees, co-workers, and management.
  • Communicates applicable knowledge, policies, and procedures to employees.
  • Depending on business needs, schedule flexing may be required.
  • Manages ad hoc needs presented by leadership or other IT teams.


Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Master's or MBA degree typically preferred.
  • ERP experience
  • Oil & Gas industry experience
  • 5-8 years’ experience
