Manager, Software Quality Assurance and Testing

The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.


Position Summary:

The Test Manager will take responsibility for ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance, and issue tracking. They will ensure there is a proper testing structure in place and own the QA environments across all applications and platforms. This role will lead the effort to improve the quality, reliability & performance of the system. The Test Manager is responsible to lead the development of test methodologies and tools across IT.  They will lead and coordinate the UAT effort across the enterprise. They will be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry-recognized Best Practices

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Quality Assurance function across Delek US Systems
  • Manage the User Acceptance Testing function across Delek US Business Channels
  • Lead, Manage and Mentor a group of testing resources.
  • Create and maintain an integrated test environment (Development and QA) ensuring data integrity.
  • Responsible for identifying and performing comprehensive end-to-end testing on all levels of testing required for assigned projects including, but not limited to Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and Performance by analyzing business, functional and non-functional requirements as well as utilizing existing system knowledge.
  • Create and maintain test strategies and test plans reflecting those identified tests.
  • Lead and develop an automation testing framework. Leveraging applications such as LeapWork
  • Update and assist in the creation of dashboards and metrics to share test results and status to all relevant stakeholders. Including weekly possible daily readouts on status and progress
  • Develop automated functional and performance test scripts from Process Team and Test Integration specifications.
  • Perform load, stress and performance testing for both batch and online transactions.
  • Identify and document software faults and interact with the development staff to isolate and resolve testing and quality issues.


In addition to the above, the role is also responsible for:

  • Develop common strategies for release & testing governance.
  • Establish a globally consistent release & test management practices designed to improve the quality of IT products and services.
  • Inform senior management of enterprise-wide exposure to release risk & effectively mitigate it.
  • Measure release cadence & effectiveness using common metrics across the entire software portfolio.
  • Forecast demand for release & testing resources and identify opportunities for greater efficiency across the enterprise.
  • Educate and influences the organization to follow and continuously improve release testing processes.
  • Ensures that all environment landscapes are appropriate to support the execution of release-based testing.
  • Investigate and implement automated testing tools.
  • Facilitate Service Level Agreements with both IT and the business as it relates to software testing and QA.
  • Manage the evaluation and introduction of new testing tools and repositories to assist in the automation of the testing process.
  • Interact extensively with vendors and QA peer groups.
  • Provide consulting and training in release & testing disciplines and tools.
  • Determine the testing tool to be leveraged Enterprise wide.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in governing both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing best practices and the tools.
  • Experience with automation tools and strong ability to choose the best tools and solutions for the release management function
  • Experience with staging and evaluating data in relational databases to support tests especially Microsoft SQL Server/SQL Azure
  • Experience in crafting end-user A/B testing.
  • Comfortable and familiar in working in an Agile Scrum team leveraging Test-Driven Development (TDD) including experience working in JIRA or similar
  • Awareness of relevant security and compliance requirements Experience in designing the framework for the automation using CBTA, Solution Manager and Test management tools from SAP.
  • Experience in using Testing tools and applications such as HP ALM and Jira.
  • Experience using UFT framework.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in governing both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in implementing best practices and tools.
  • 7-10years’ experience with automation tools and strong ability to choose the best tools and solutions for the release management function
  • 7-10years’ experience in designing framework for the automation using CBTA, Solution Manager and Test management tools from SAP.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in using Test tool HP ALM and Jira.
  • Experience using UFT framework
